Sarjette German Shepherds

It is better to deserve honours and have none, than to have them and not deserve them

For the last few weeks Jamie has been training Jez, (Queen Ebony Diamond at Sarjette), in Agility, thay have done rather well, especially to say the conditions during training have not been good, heavy showers being the norm, but undetterred they have stayed in there and under the excellent tuition of Kevin Horn at B.A.G.S.D Huddersfield, are hoping to improve further.

We ourselves are extreamly proud of both of them, Jamie has had an interest in Agility and is a very determined lad, and I know with his heart set on doing well with Jez he will do his best to learn as much as he can, and importantly how both he and Jez can negotiate each obsticle in safety, ensureing both he and Jez are always fit and ready for the next one.

Jez is enjoying every minute of the training, she is learning about what each obsticle is, and how to negotiate it properly and saftley., thus building her trust and confidence in Jamie as a handler and to the full enjoyment that we all know both will get out of the sport.

Agility, as said boosts the confidence and trust of the dog in the handler, some need for Obedience is required and the dog must be under the handlers control, at the moment whilst Jez is at the begginer stage she is on the lead, but as she progresses and both her and Jamie learn the different obsticles and tasks, she will be doing it off lead.

Here are some pics of there progress so far....

(^), Jamie and Jez negotiating the weave, and yes as you can see its raining quite heavy.

(^) Jez lands Safely after the jump

(^) upto the wall

(^) will she go over?

(^) Over she goes!

(^) Through the tyre jump....

(^) Kevin shows Jamie how to help Jez negotiate the "A" Frame obsticle.

(^) And Over She goes....

(^) Jez already dissappeared through the tunnel as Jamie dashes to the other end to meet her after commanding her to go through.

(^) Jez on the table, she was commanded to lay down for 5 seconds then on to the next obsticle....

(^) Whoops, missed the tunnel entrance...

(^) OOOOO so you want me to go in here... ok no prob...

(^) up onto the high beam...

As you can see it was absolutley throwing it down when they did the course and they did extreamly well concidering the time they have been doing it and the bad rain.
